Professional Development Program and Mentoring
Preti Flaherty recognizes that one of the keys to a successful law firm is the training and development of its attorneys. Early on, associates are provided with a base of training and education in topics including oral advocacy, document drafting and the business aspects of being a lawyer. Much of the training is focused on newer associates, but continues throughout an attorney's career.
The firm also works with associates to develop and regularly update individualized career plans. This collaborative process involves discussions and input from outside consultants, mentors, practice group chairs and the Firm's Professional Development Committee. The end product is designed to give attorneys input and guidance into developing a satisfying and productive long term career plan. Along the way associates are provided with assistance and incentives to learn how to become excellent lawyers and develop intellectually stimulating practices.
