Preti Flaherty Attorney Dan Walker Appointed to Maine Marijuana Advisory Commission

Preti Flaherty attorney Dan Walker was recently appointed to Maine's new Marijuana Advisory Commission by outgoing Senate President Michael Thibodeau.

The Maine Marijuana Advisory Commission is a 15-member panel created to conduct a continuing study of state laws relating to cannabis, including the Marijuana Legalization Act and rules pertaining to the use, possession, transportation, and consumption of recreational and medical marijuana. The commission’s findings and recommendations will be submitted to the state Legislature for consideration on an annual basis.

Dan is a partner in the firm and chair of Preti Flaherty’s Cannabis Business and Government Affairs practice groups. His practice focuses on regulatory issues and advocating for clients before state and federal governmental agencies. Dan’s experience with cannabis regulation reaches back to the earliest days of legalization efforts in the state of Maine. His extensive work providing counsel to businesses within the cannabis industry includes representing the largest medical marijuana dispensary in Maine.
