Preti Flaherty Named "Highly Recommended" Law Firm by 2015 Benchmark Litigation

PORTLAND, ME and CONCORD, NH (November 17, 2014) — Preti Flaherty announced  today that the firm has again been named a "Highly Recommended" law firm for the  state of Maine in the 2015 edition of Benchmark Litigation, the definitive guide to America's leading litigation firms and attorneys. In addition to the firm ranking, five Preti Flaherty attorneys have been listed as local "Litigation Stars," including Tim Bryant, Gregory  Hansel, and Jonathan Piper in the firm's Portland, Maine  office and John Sullivan and William Saturley  in the firm's Concord, New Hampshire office.

One Preti Flaherty attorney, Sigmund Schutz in the Portland, Maine office, was listed as a "Future Star."

Benchmark highlighted some of the attorneys' recent representations  such as Greg Hansel's and John Sullivan's representation of a group of direct  purchasers of automotive parts. Jon Piper continues to receive praise from  clients for his considerable trial experience. One client noted that although  they selected Preti Flaherty originally for litigation, they had such a positive  experience that Preti Flaherty remains their counsel of choice.

Benchmark Litigation identifies the leading U.S. trial attorneys and  firms at the local and national levels. Focused exclusively on the U.S.  litigation market, the publication's rankings and editorials are the result of  extensive interviews with private practice lawyers and in-house counsel.  Supplementary firm information is also submitted in the form of a questionnaire.  The guide's "local litigation stars" reflect lawyers who are recommended by  peers and clients to have established consistent reputations as trial attorneys,  while "future stars" are those litigators who are highlighted as likely to be  become "local litigation stars" in coming editions. Benchmark's independent  research is conducted annually between February and June.

Preti Flaherty's Litigation Practice is one of the largest and most respected  litigation practices in northern New England. The Group provides consensual or  mandatory ADR, domestic or international arbitration, and trials in state and  federal court. Its experience is varied and extensive, including noteworthy  successes in matters such as class action litigation, toxic tort litigation,  securities claims, anti trust matters, professional liability litigation,  construction claims, lender liability claims, injunction of governmental  agencies on constitutional grounds, and libel defense of national publications  and broadcasters.

Licensed in more than a dozen states and numerous federal courts, the firm's  litigation team consists of more than 40 litigators, including four senior  partners who each bring 30+ years of trial experience to the group.
