Sigmund Schutz Speaks at New England First Amendment Institute 2011

Attorney Sigmund Schutz recently participated in the 2011 New England First Amendment Institute's session on "The Nitty Gritty: How to Harness State Freedom of Information Laws."

Specifically, Schutz sat on a panel that discussed "Common Issues in State Freedom of Information Laws." He was joined by panelists including Mitchell Pearlman of the University of Connecticut, William Chapman of Orr & Reno, Peter Caruso of Caruso & Caruso, Joseph Cavanagh of Blish & Cavanagh and Michael Donoghue of the Burlington Free Press. The panel was moderated by Gregory Sullivan of Malloy & Sullivan.

Schutz is a Partner who practices Litigation, Environmental Law and Media Law with Preti Flaherty. He represents the Maine Press Association and the press on First Amendment matters, libel and privacy law, state and federal sunshine laws, newsgathering and related matters.

The New England First Amendment Institute is a collaboration between New England First Amendment Coalition (NEFAC) and the Initiative for Investigative Reporting at Northeastern University School of Journalism.
